On August 1, 2006, Urban Connection – San Antonio
signed a lease for our new building space on the Lincoln Heights Courts
property. The move has tripled the space of our community development
center.
Our new, 3210 sq ft building has two stories that will
be dedicated to strengthening this vibrant community on the west side of
San Antonio. This new facility will allow us to increase all of our
services, while also expanding our work into new areas.
Our new home includes:

Administrative offices;
-
An expanded food pantry that will now include a self
serve process;

An improved Clothes Closet;
-
Additional capacity in our youth programs, including
the After School Academy, Kids Kamps and Kids Cafe;
-
A new computer area for children and adults.
The facility
also has a large, fenced-in yard where the children can
play without worrying about nearby traffic.
Working in partnership with More to Life Ministries and
Sunset Ridge Church of Christ, the building also hosts Sunday Worship
services at 12:00pm. Connection Fellowship Church will provide a spiritual
home to the entire community.
Urban Connection would
like to thank Sunset Ridge Church of Christ, Northside Church of Christ,
Redeeming Grace Baptist Church, Bruce Barnard, Bruce Lee, Donna Hoyack,
Carol Langford, BDI Insurance, and all the many, many volunteers that
helped us to get the building ready for service.
